Irrigation Technician
The Desert Blume Golf Club located in Medicine Hat Alberta, is currently seeking a candidate to fill the position of Irrigation Technician. The golf course will be going into its 2nd operational season, and has been nominated for best new golf course in Canada for 2007. Medicine Hat, located in South Eastern Alberta, is a prospering city boasting the lowest utilities and most sunshine in all of Canada. Medicine Hat is a great place for someone looking to start a new career or to get away from the big city rush.

Qualifications required for position:
-Experience with computer controlled irrigation (Osmac-Sitepro) preferred but not necessary.
-Sound understanding of installation and repair relating to all aspects of irrigation.
-Currently enrolled or have completed a turfgrass related program.
-Physically fit and able to perform a wide range of duties.
-Experience in daily golf course maintenance.
-Willingness to learn and advance within the turfgrass industry.
-Must hold a valid drivers license.
-Have a valid Alberta Pesticide Applicators Certificate or ability to receive within first 3 months of employment.
Duties Include:
-Regular irrigation maintenance.
-Daily Irrigation setup.
-Irrigation startup and blowout.
-Daily golf course maintenance.

This is a 10 month seasonal position with opportunity for future advancement. Wage is hourly and negotiable based on experience and education. Qualified applicants are encouraged to submit their resumes by December 15, 2007.
